NEW CAR PARKING SYSTEM

Park Layer, a Coimbatore based company has come out with a rotatory car parking method called 'Smart Parking System' for four-wheelers, that the company claims is the first of its kind in the country. This rotatory car parking system caters to both the Sedan and SUV types of vehicles and the place of two cars -- 16 X 21 feet -- can be shared by 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 sedans and 8, 10, 12 SUVs, A S Mohan Kumar, Managing Director, Park Layer Pvt Ltd, told reporters here today. For this gear-chain mechanism, vertical smart parking was highly cost effective, safe and durable, with maintenance and electricity costs much lower in comparison to its competitors, Kumar claimed. Stating that the company has entered into a joint venture with a South Korean firm, with brand name Dong Yang India, he said the time taken to park and take out a car was only 30 seconds to three minutes, with a rent of Rs 30 per hour. This system has been installed for the first time in India at Aquasub Engineering in Thudiyalur last week and effectively running since then, he said. The joint venture partner has given the exclusive rights to manufacture and sell these systems from here, said Kumar, adding, negotiations are on with big commercial units, industries and hospitals, which have the compulsion and necessity to set aside a huge portion of their high valued land for parking purposes.
