1/3rd NET USERS ARE BEER LOVERS

One-third of Internet users in India above 25 years of age consume alcohol and the majority of them prefer beer to any other alcoholic drink, says a study. "Beer emerged as the No. 1 choice with 44 per cent of alcohol consumers on Internet in India citing it as their favourite drink, while close to one-fourth (26 per cent) of them said they preferred Whiskey the most," an online survey conducted by Juxt and Qilo has said. Vodka, preferred by 14 per cent, and Rum, preferred by nine per cent, took the third and fourth spots, respectively, it added. "The study just reiterates Qilo's strong belief in online as an excellent medium to reach out to the consumers in lifestyle categories like alcohol," Qilo co-founder Vipul Mathur said. The survey was conducted from Juxt's access panel, India Research Panel (an initiative of Juxt & Youmint) among over 6.5 lakh net users who were above 25 years old and were from top 12 cities in the country. Commenting on the survey, Juxt co-founder Mrutyunjay said: "Internet is an excellent medium to not only study usage and brand loyalty but also drive engagement in categories like alcohol..." Juxt is a leading research-based advisory firm with presence in both online and offline research space in the country.
