NIFTY :: 9974 (+117)

Nifty traded in  a range of 9983  to 9784   during last week and closed at the Upper  end of the range  for the week at 9974  with a Gain  of  117 Points (about 1.10). Nifty gained for the last Three weeks and it could gain for another Two weeks if the present trend continues. On the total market had closed with a   Positive  outlook

- The short term too has become Bullish . It is Bullish both  for Medium and Long term, Short term could become Bearish   if Nifty comes and closes below 9850

- 20 DMA, 50DMA, 100DMA and 200 DMA are placed at about 9885, 9832, 9670 and 9085 respectively and would act as  Supports  and Resistances as Nifty is trading only below 20 DMA .

- Nifty continues to trade above    the  200 DMA and also  the 50 DMA and 50 DMA too has  come above   200 DMA (Golden  Cross has come more than  Six  months  ago) suggesting that the Long term outlook has become   Bullish and  Nifty continues to trade above all  the long term and Short term Moving Averages and hence can be considered Bullish . 

Technical Levels...

 Breakout level : 10050          Breakdown : 9850 

Bullish above 10050  with resistance at  10125, 10200 

Bearish below 9900 with Supports at 9825, 9750.

Advice for Traders ::
Weekly Open level is very important for the entire week. Long    positions may be considered  as long as it maintains above the Weekly open level.

Planetary Position...

- Moon would be transiting  from Sravana 4 th Pada  in Capricorn  to Revathi 1 st Pada in Pisces.

- Sun transits from  Pubba 2 nd   Pada in Leo to Pubba 3 rd  Pada in Leo .

- Mercury, in Retrograde motion, transits from Makha 2 nd Pada to Makha 2 nd  Pada  in Leo. Mercury comes out of Retrogession during the week from 5th Evening.

- Venus transits from  Aslesha 1 st Pada in Cancer  to Aslesha 2   Pada in Cancer.

- Mars  transits in Makha 2 nd  Pada in Leo to Makha 3 rd Pada in Leo.

- Saturn,  in Retro motion, in Jyeshta 4 th Pada in Scorpio and also moves in Pisces Navamsa.

- Jupiter transits in Chitta 2 nd Pada in Virgo and  is vargottama too.

- Rahu and Ketu  move to Cancer and Capricorn and in Pisces and  Virgo Navamsas.

Moon  would transit  from Dhanishta  to Revathi in  Aquarius and Pisces Rasis between next Tuesday to Friday (between 5 th September to 9 th September). It would become Bullish if it breaks the high of this range and it would become Bearish if it breaks the Low of this range.

Sensex drops 244 pts
A late sell-off in auto, banking and IT shares pulled back the benchmark BSE Sensex from record high level to close down by 244 points, its biggest single loss in past one month, on the first trading day of 2018. Investors preferred to book profits at record highs amid concerns over fiscal slippages and rising crude oil prices and absence of cues from global markets which were closed for the New Year holiday. The benchmark Sensex touched a low of 33,766.15 before settling lower by 244.08 points, or 0.72 per cent, at 33,812.75. This is the biggest single-day fall since December 1 when the index had lost 316.41. The 30-share index had closed at an all-time high of 34,056.83 in the last session of 2017 on Friday. UBS Cautious Note

Projecting zero returns from the Nifty, Swiss brokerage UBS has projected a 10 per cent cut in its index target at 10,500 for calendar 2018, even as it remains positive over the long-term. "Top-down, we forecast Nifty earnings growth will recover from 9 per cent in fiscal 2018 to 13 per cent in 2019, but driven largely by financials," the brokerage said in a report. "However, earnings growth is likely to disappoint against consensus forecast of 22 per cent growth for fiscal 2019, implying a 10 per cent cut," it added. Accordingly, the brokerage estimates "no returns from the Nifty in 2018" and has set the index target at 10,500 for this December.
